Description
Ses feuilles de 25 à 45 cm de long sont linéaires ou en lanière, de couleur vert foncé, étroites, souples, offrant une sorte de légèreté à elles seules, même en l’absence de fleurs.
Durant tout l’été, de juillet à octobre, des fleurs de 5 à 8 mm de diamètre violet vif se développent sur des tiges vert violacé, en formant des épis serrés. Les Liriope sont des vivaces de mi-ombre qui s'accommodent à peu près de toutes les expositions dans un sol léger, frais, plutôt acide et bien drainé, mais la plante tolère aussi la sécheresse. Mieux vaut la protéger des vents froids et desséchants.
